This year, Anhui Province has coordinated policy support, innovation-driven leadership, project clustering, and industrial integration to accelerate quality, scale, and efficiency improvements in its electronic information manufacturing sector. From January to March, 2025, the province’s electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size posted a year-on-year increase of 21.1 percent in industrial value-added—9.6 percentage points above the national average—and its added value accounted for 10.2 percent of total industrial output, ranking first among 41 major industrial categories. A senior official in the Electronic Information Division of the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology said: “We have been pushing our new display, integrated circuit, and other electronic information industries forward. In the first quarter, Anhui’s electronic information manufacturing sector (excluding photovoltaic energy storage) reached 1,363 enterprises above designated size—127 more than same period last year—and achieved operating revenue of RMB 124.12 billion, up 13.9 percent year-on-year. Both the number of enterprises above designated size and total industry revenue set all-time highs for the quarter.” Looking at key products, integrated circuits showed robust growth, with both industrial value-added above designated size and operating revenue up by more than 50 percent year-on-year in the first three months. Display devices saw a substantial improvement in profitability, with total profits 2.5 times those of the same period last year. Anhui also produced over 5.5 million microcomputer units—ranking fifth nationwide—and approximately 1.9 million color television sets—ranking fourth nationwide—both the best historical standings for the province.
