From April 1 to 2, 2025, the Daoxiangcun Primary School Education Group in Hefei welcomed a delegation of teachers and students from Derby, England. Sixteen British students and teachers experienced the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture through intangible cultural heritage courses, art performances, and interactive sports activities.

In the "Traditional Culture Workshop," Chinese and British students paired up to engage in intangible cultural heritage projects such as lacquer fan painting, paper cutting, clay sculpture, and calligraphy. The British students marveled at the natural blend of ink and water in the lacquer painting process, wrote the character "福" (fu) under the guidance of the calligraphy club, appreciating the beauty of Chinese characters. The creativity in paper cutting and clay sculpture impressed the delegation greatly. Additionally, they participated in woodworking classes and made green glutinous rice balls, experiencing the spirit of traditional craftsmanship and outstanding Chinese cultural heritage.

The delegation actively participated in campus life, attending an interesting science class with the children of Daoxiangcun Primary School. During the break, students from both sides played jump rope, kicked shuttlecocks, and practiced archery. On the green field, a friendly match brought them closer together.

The Yuexi Road campus of Daoxiangcun Primary School also prepared an exciting cultural performance. The traditional music ensemble's rendition of "Golden Snake Dance" ignited the atmosphere with its vigorous melody, while the classic recitation of "Who Are You?" showcased the students' spirit. A classic excerpt from Huangmei Opera, "The Female Consort Prince," allowed the British delegation to vividly experience the unique charm of Chinese opera.

James Wilson, the lead teacher from the British side, remarked, "The experiences of these two days are unforgettable. The enthusiasm of the Chinese teachers and students, along with their deep cultural background, left a profound impression on us."

This exchange not only promoted communication between schools in China and England but also used traditional culture as a bond to convey the innovative vitality of Chinese education and the firm belief in cultural transmission to the world. It also created a broader platform for nurturing a new generation of youth with cultural confidence and international understanding.
