Recently, reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics that this year, our province has implemented a series of policies to expand domestic demand and promote consumption, resulting in significant effects. The retail sales of goods such as new energy vehicles and home appliances have grown rapidly, while the demand for service consumption in sectors like dining and cultural tourism continues to be released. The consumer market in the province maintains a growth momentum. From January to February 2025, the retail sales of consumer goods above the designated limit grew by 7.5%, which is 2.1 percentage points higher than the full year of last year.

Eighty percent of retail goods maintained growth. From January to February 2025, retail sales of goods above the designated limit increased by 7.3%, which is 1.7 percentage points higher than last year. Nearly eighty percent of retail sales of goods above the designated limit maintained growth. Among them, daily necessities and staple food items grew by 10.1% and 8.8%, respectively. Residential goods such as building materials and furniture turned from declines of 2.7% and 3.2% last year to increases of 15.8% and 14.1%.

Policy measures have shown effective results. The trade-in policy for consumer goods has been strengthened and expanded, boosting sales of cars, home appliances, and 3C products. From January to February, retail sales of new energy vehicles increased by 47.5%, and sales of household appliances and audiovisual equipment grew by 13.7%. Retail sales of computers, communication equipment, and wearable smart devices above the designated limit increased by 77.1%, 57.1%, and 36.1%, respectively, which is 66.9, 46.6, and 12.5 percentage points higher than last year.

Notably, dining revenue has accelerated. With increased travel among residents, the service consumption potential in dining and cultural tourism is rapidly being released. From January to February, the dining revenue above the designated limit grew by 9.8%, which is 6.9 percentage points higher than last year and 2.5 percentage points above the growth rate of retail goods. The operating revenue of the accommodation industry above the designated limit increased by 4.3%, while box office revenue for films rose by 68.9% year-on-year.
