At 4:28 p.m. on January 5, 2025, at the Huangshanbei High-speed Railway Station in Anhui Province, the G99 high-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao departed on time from Platform 7 of Huangshanbei Station. The train's ultimate destination was West Kowloon in Hong Kong, arriving there at 9:56 p.m. that same evening. It was reported that this marked the first direct high-speed train from Huangshanbei to West Kowloon following the railway schedule adjustment that took effect at midnight on January 5th.   

The G99 high-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao to West Kowloon, along with the return trip G100 from West Kowloon to Shanghai Hongqiao, stops at Huangshanbei. The total journey time from Huangshanbei to West Kowloon is approximately 5 and a half hours. The G99 high-speed train departs from Shanghai Hongqiao station at 13:53, passing through Suzhounan and Hangzhouxi, and leaves Huangshanbei Station at 16:28, arriving at West Kowloon Station at 21:56 on the same day. The G100 high-speed train departs from West Kowloon Station at 11:37 and arrives at Huangshanbei Station at 17:06 on the same day. 

In the future, travelers can enjoy lunch in Huangshan and then take the high-speed train to Hong Kong, where they can have a late-night snack the same evening. When departing from West Kowloon, they can opt to have lunch beforehand or on the train itself, and by evening, they can savor Huizhou delicacies such as stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu by the beautiful Xin'an River in Huangshan City.

Previously, Huangshan City already had direct flights to Hong Kong. With the launch of the direct high-speed train service, travel between Huangshan and Hong Kong has become even more convenient. Passengers now have more choices regarding their mode of transportation and departure times. Industry insiders in Huangshan's culture and tourism sector believe that the smooth flow of transportation will significantly benefit the further development of Huangshan City's inbound tourism market. It also makes it more convenient for passengers along the high-speed train route to visit Huangshan City, increasing their opportunities to explore the area. Clearly, travel from Huangshan to Hong Kong has also become much more convenient.
