On October 22, reporters learned from the Hefei Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology that Hefei's actual production of new energy vehicles in 2024 exceeded one million units, surpassing the total output of 746,000 units for the entire year of 2023. Data shows that from January to September this year, the city produced a total of 1.3117 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 33.47%, among which new energy vehicles accounted for 927,500 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 74.47%. The rising figures paint a magnificent picture of the development of Hefei's new energy vehicle industry. In 2016, NIO partnered with JAC Group, and four years later, NIO's China headquarters was established in Hefei. In 2021, BYD signed an agreement for its base in Hefei, and the rapid rollout of its first vehicle showcased the "Hefei Speed." Leading automakers have driven the settlement of upstream and downstream supply chain supporting enterprises. From January to September, the city introduced 153 new energy vehicle industry chain projects, with a total investment of 131.5 billion yuan. In Hefei, industrial clusters have driven the overall improvement of the industry chain. From January to September, the total number of various charging facilities reached 230,000, essentially establishing a 2-kilometer charging service circle in urban areas. During the 2024 Hefei International New Energy Vehicle Exhibition, over 20,000 vehicles were sold, generating sales revenue of 3.79 billion yuan.
