On the evening of July 17, Volkswagen Anhui's first coupe SUV, the "ID.UNYX," was officially launched at Swan Lake Citizen Square in Hefei. The suggested retail prices for the three model variants range from 209,900 RMB to 249,900 RMB, with a series of promotional offers. Since 2016, the cooperation between Volkswagen and Anhui has finally borne fruitful results. At the launch event, Volkswagen Anhui CEO Dr. Erwin Gabardi revealed that four more models are set to follow, each targeting different market segments. This signifies that the Hefei manufacturing base will be the launch site for Volkswagen Group's new generation of pure electric vehicles.

Volkswagen Anhui was established in 2017. It is a joint venture between the Volkswagen Group and Anhui JAC Group, and is Volkswagen Group's first joint venture in China focused solely on new energy vehicles. Starting in 2016, driven by the governments of the two countries, Volkswagen Anhui has experienced multiple stages including cooperation with local car companies, reforming the equity ratio of foreign-funded enterprises, independent car manufacturing, increased investment, and product launch.

According to official information, the "ID.UNYX" features a Coupe SUV design, with dimensions of 4663 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1610 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2766 mm. It has an intelligent cockpit with the UNYX.OS operating system, and a new human-machine interface (HMI). It is equipped with an AI intelligent companion that supports personalized image customization and real voice cloning. The next-generation cognitive intelligent large language model (LLM), developed in cooperation with iFlytek, endows the car with self-learning capabilities, bringing new experiences in human-machine interaction. The all-scenario worry-free parking system is equipped with 12 ultrasonic radars and a 360° panoramic camera, supporting intelligent parking, remote parking, memory parking, and phone-based car searching functions.

In terms of handling, the minimum turning radius (rear-wheel drive) is 4.7 meters, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds (four-wheel drive), and a maximum range of 621 kilometers (rear-wheel drive).

Regarding safety, the "ID.UNYX" has undergone 57 types of safety tests and 179 real vehicle crash tests, with 22 types exceeding national standards. For battery safety, it has passed 436 tests.

In terms of public charging, the "ID.UNYX" integrates over 700,000 charging terminals nationwide, covering more than 350 cities.

In an interview following the launch event on the 17th, Volkswagen Anhui CEO Dr. Erwin Gabardi stated that the successful launch of the "ID.UNYX" would not have been possible without the support of Anhui and Hefei. The series of R&D and production facilities established by Volkswagen in Hefei will maximize speed and optimize costs, providing tailor-made products and services for the Chinese market. Volkswagen is firmly implementing its 'In China, For China' strategy, fully transitioning towards new energy, and continuously expanding its footprint in Anhui. The company is committed to developing Anhui into an advanced production, R&D, and innovation center. By 2026, Volkswagen Anhui plans to launch four additional electric vehicle models.
