BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- As gentle breeze snakes its way through the trees, the world has transformed into a land of flowers in the spring. Nestled in eastern China, Zhejiang Province unveils its treasure trove of scenic wonders when spring blossoms grace the land, drawing residents and travelers to capture those joyous moments that bloom amidst petals of warmth and delight. The "flower economy" has greatly boosted the development of tourism. Statistics released by Chinese travel services platform Qunar showed that between February and March, searches for "flower viewing" more than tripled compared with 2024. Since March, blossom-themed tourism has dominated online travel platforms, with cities publishing "blossom maps" to guide visitors and boost the local economies. Zhejiang Province is actively developing its springtime economy, creating expanded leisure spaces, and integrating culture with tourism to stimulate local growth. China has had the tradition of flower viewing since ancient times. It is believed that people from as early as the Tang Dynasty (618-907) had already formed the habit of going to the city outskirts with friends and family to appreciate the flowers and worship the floral fairies. In Zhejiang, this tradition is well preserved today while evolving to embody modern lifestyles in harmony with nature.
