During the just-concluded May Day holiday, Anhui Province's consumer market was well-supplied with stable prices, featured a rich array of consumption-promoting activities, and operated in an orderly and stable manner. According to data from the Provincial Department of Commerce, the 290 sample enterprises under key monitoring across the province achieved sales of 1.035 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 8.09%. Throughout the holiday, the market for daily necessities in the province was abundantly supplied with a wide variety of goods and maintained stable prices. Monitoring revealed that the stock of essential daily necessities in major agricultural product wholesale markets, farmers' markets, and large chain supermarkets across the province increased by about 10% compared to normal days. The prices of eight major categories of daily necessities remained generally stable compared to before the holiday. The 259 retail enterprises under key monitoring across the province achieved sales of 937 million yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 8.39%; the 31 catering enterprises under key monitoring recorded sales revenue of 98 million yuan, up by 5.24% year-on-year. According to the monitoring data, the top three sectors in terms of sales growth were: tobacco, alcohol, and beverages with a year-on-year increase of 35.89%, home appliances and audio-visual equipment with a growth of 28.65%, and automobiles with a growth of 13.88%. A diverse array of consumption-promoting activities further invigorated the holiday market. During the May Day holiday, the Provincial Department of Commerce organized and guided local commercial departments to continue the "Anhui Dynamic Consumption" series of activities, with nearly 400 consumption-promoting events held across various cities. Among them, from May 1st to 4th, Hefei hosted the 22nd Anhui International Automobile Exhibition · May Day Car Show, bringing together over 60 auto brands and more than 800 models, attracting 257,000 visitors and resulting in the sale of 8,565 new vehicles with sales of about 1.55 billion yuan; other cities also organized activities such as car exhibitions, mall discounts, home appliance (home furnishing) promotions, and electric bicycle trade-ins in line with holiday consumption characteristics and product trade-in schemes.
