On April 10, the Information Office of Anhui Provincial Government held the fourth press conference in the "Striving Forward" series, focusing on building an internationally influential advanced photovoltaic and new energy storage manufacturing cluster. Reporters learned from the conference that in 2024, the province's advanced photovoltaic industry achieved revenues of 328.46 billion yuan and profits of 10.08 billion yuan. The new energy storage industry generated revenues of 87.81 billion yuan and profits of 570 million yuan. Research and development investment intensity in the photovoltaic manufacturing sector rose from 2.3% in 2023 to 2.6%, with Anhui ranking fourth in the nation for patent applications in the advanced photovoltaic field. The province has fostered 58 new provincial innovation platforms, with a cumulative total of eight national-level and 189 provincial-level innovation platforms. In September 2024, the CCID Research Institute released the "2024 China Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry High-Quality Development Research Report and Top Ten Provinces (Cities) in Comprehensive Competitiveness," ranking Anhui's energy storage industry third nationwide. In terms of shipment volume, in 2024, Sungrow's photovoltaic inverters maintained their position as the world's top seller, while Huasun New Energy’s heterojunction modules also ranked first globally. The province’s new energy storage products recorded over 40% growth across all categories, with Sungrow’s energy storage system achieving the highest cumulative installed capacity and order volume worldwide, and Gotion High-tech’s energy storage batteries shipment volume ranking eighth globally.
By the end of 2024, the province's cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity reached 43.11 million kilowatts, ranking eighth nationally, with household photovoltaic installations ranking second in the country. The utilization rate of photovoltaic power generation was 99.9%, tied for second place nationwide. The province added 840,000 kilowatts of new energy storage capacity, bringing the cumulative total to 2.62 million kilowatts, a growth of 47.2%, ranking twelfth in the nation. In 2024, Anhui's energy storage industry export volume reached 43.87 billion yuan, ranking fifth in the country, with exports of major products like battery cells, modules, and lithium-ion batteries increasing by over 50%.
