On March 19th, reporters learned from Hefei Logistics Group that starting from March, the China-Europe Freight Train (Hefei) has entered a new phase of expanded application of the "Railway Express" mode. Currently, all export trains are applying this innovative customs clearance mechanism. The "Railway Express" mode of the China-Europe Freight Train (Hefei) has accelerated international trade, reducing the customs clearance time for each train by about 20 hours and shortening the overall transportation cycle by 1 to 2 days. The "Railway Express" mode is a facilitation measure launched by the General Administration of Customs to further smooth the opening of international logistics channels and promote the development of the China-Europe Freight Train. This mode enables data interchange among customs, railways, and operating companies, with tripartite collaboration for joint supervision. Under the "Railway Express" mode, customs conducts review, release, and verification of electronic data on railway manifests to regulate the transshipment of import and export goods carried by railway trains, greatly simplifying the entry and exit regulatory procedures for trains and reducing operational costs for enterprises. In September 2023, this mode was first piloted in Hefei. In recent years, Hefei has continuously consolidated and enhanced its position as a comprehensive national transportation hub, systematically advancing the construction of a large logistics system. Since its inaugural journey in 2014, the China-Europe Freight Train (Hefei) has cumulatively operated over 4,700 trains, covering 20 countries and 160 cities, with the total value of shipped goods exceeding 11.8 billion US dollars. The expanded application of the "Railway Express" mode is another new initiative following customized special trains and cross-border e-commerce trains. Moving forward, the China-Europe Freight Train (Hefei) will continue to optimize its train organization, operation, and customs clearance processes, providing efficient logistics services to more enterprises.
