At the beginning of 2025, Anhui has showcased impressive foreign trade results. On March 10, reporters learned from Hefei Customs that in the first two months of this year, the total value of goods trade in Anhui Province reached 141.53 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8% year-on-year. Exports amounted to 96.1 billion yuan, up 18% year-on-year, while imports reached 45.43 billion yuan, an year-on-year 8.5% increase. The province's new industrial "engines" have accelerated foreign trade. In the same period, over 70% of the province's exports were electromechanical products, with "new trio" of products seeing nearly a doubling in export growth. Data shows that electromechanical product exports totaled 71.04 billion yuan, a year-on-year 22.8% increase, making up 73.9% of total exports. Notably, exports of automobiles (including chassis), automatic data processing equipment and components, and household appliances were 13.03 billion yuan, 8.63 billion yuan, and 6.67 billion yuan, reflecting year-on-year growth of 11.9%, 64.2%, and 13.1%, respectively. Meanwhile, exports of new trio products like electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products totaled 13.19 billion yuan, soaring by 98.8% and accounting for 13.7% of total exports. Improved demand in the manufacturing sector has also driven growth in related product imports. In the first two months, imports of electromechanical products reached 16.86 billion yuan, an increase of 21%, representing 37.1% of total imports. Additionally, imports of metal ores and minerals stood at 16.04 billion yuan, a 4.8% increase, comprising 35.3%. Since the beginning of this year, Anhui's exports to Europe and the United States continue to grow. In the first two months, trade with the province's top four trading partners—the EU, ASEAN, the U.S., and Japan—reached 18.09 billion yuan, 16.66 billion yuan, 15.14 billion yuan, and 8.13 billion yuan, with year-on-year increases of 21.1%, 22.8%, 12.1%, and 37.2%, respectively. Moreover, the province is forging relationships with an increasing number of "new friends," enhancing trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, which brings new growth points for foreign trade. In the first two months of this year, trade with Belt and Road participating countries reached 76.05 billion yuan, an 11.7% increase, while trade with other RCEP member countries totaled 33.99 billion yuan, up 15.6%.
