From January 14 to March 29, China Eastern Airlines will add a new exclusive Hefei-Ganzhou-Zhanjiang route, operating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, using the domestic C909 aircraft. Additionally, during the Spring Festival travel rush, China Eastern will add a direct flight from Hefei to Phuket, Thailand, and increased flights from Hefei to Singapore to six times a week, offering more travel options for passengers. It is reported that the high-speed train journey from Hefei to Ganzhou takes nearly 5 hours. After China Eastern launching the exclusive flight route, the flying time to Ganzhou is reduced to 1 hour and 30 minutes, significantly cutting down on commuting time and facilitating business and travel between the two cities. Currently, China Eastern Airlines has implemented a "dual-fleet" operation model in the Anhui region to further improve the regional route network and strive to create a high-quality aviation transportation service system that ensures "mainline connectivity and comprehensive network linkage." In addition to the existing Airbus A320 fleet, routes originating from Hefei operated by the domestic C909 aircraft include Hefei to Zhanjiang, Hefei to Ganzhou, Hefei to Hohhot, Hefei to Chaoshan-Jieyang, Hefei to Guilin, and Hefei to Yantai. To ensure the smooth operation of the domestically produced C909 aircraft, China Eastern Airlines' Anhui branch established the C909 division within its flight department on December 31 last year. On New Year's Day of 2025, it achieved operational capability for the C909 cabin crew, actively implementing various safety measures in flight operations, maintenance support, and ground services. This ensures that personnel can smoothly and seamlessly handle the Spring Festival travel rush, comprehensively enhancing the overall capability for operating domestic civil aircraft.
