The 2024 Anhui Straw and Livestock Waste Comprehensive Utilization Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Expo") will be held from December 20 to 21 at the Hefei Binhu International Exhibition Center. Since its inception in 2017, the Expo has successfully held seven consecutive sessions, becoming a professional exhibition brand with distinctive Anhui characteristics, large scale, and strong influence.

As a leader in the development of the national "two utilizations" industry (utilizing agricultural straw and livestock waste), Anhui is accelerating the establishment of a comprehensive "two utilizations" industrial system. The province has an annual collectable amount of about 49 million tons of straw, with a comprehensive utilization of 46 million tons, achieving a straw utilization rate of 94%. There are nearly 2,300 enterprises utilizing over 1,000 tons of straw annually. In terms of livestock manure, the province has developed a complete industrial chain around collection, transportation, biogas production, biogas electricity generation, and organic fertilizer production, producing over 2.8 million tons of marketable organic fertilizer and generating 10.83 million kilowatt-hours of biogas electricity annually. The total annual output value of the entire "two utilizations" industrial chain exceeds 45 billion yuan, creating a new billion-level industry "from scratch".

In recent years, Anhui's new energy and energy-saving environmental protection industry has been rapidly developing, breaking through the 300 billion and 400 billion yuan thresholds in 2021 and 2022, respectively. In 2023, the total revenue of the industry reached 612.19 billion yuan, doubling in two years. As of the end of October this year, there are 1,287 projects in the province's new energy and energy-saving environmental protection industry, with a total investment of 689.06 billion yuan, ranking second among the province's top ten emerging industries and further enhancing its position and role in the national industrial layout.

Since 2017, the Expo has signed a total of 778 projects with an agreement amount of 146.326 billion yuan. To date, 738 projects have commenced, with a start rate of 94.86%, and 347 projects have been completed and put into production, with funds in place amounting to 72.635 billion yuan.

This year's Expo will feature an achievement exhibition hall with a newly established ecological and environmental protection section, focusing on domestic and international leading environmental protection enterprises. Various forms, including panels and models, will showcase the current development status of technology and equipment in Anhui's ecological and environmental protection field, fully demonstrating the new quality productive forces of the province's ecological and environmental protection industry.
