Recently, at the Intelligent Control Center of the Huaibei Mining Group’s Guobei Coal Preparation Plant, the AI Smart Inspection System triggered an automatic alarm. Over 200 kilometers away, equipment diagnosis engineers at the Ronds Science & Technology Incorporated Company (RONDS) Remote Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Center in Hefei Hi-Tech Zone promptly sent diagnostic feedback to the maintenance personnel, guiding them in troubleshooting the issue. The productive service industry is a service sector that promotes technological advancement, enhances production efficiency, and ensures the orderly conduct of industrial and agricultural activities. It is a supporting service industry directly related to the manufacturing industry and an emerging industry that has developed independently from the production service sector within the manufacturing industry. Recent initiatives in Hefei indicate that the city is accelerating the high-quality development of the productive service industry, empowering manufacturing with “smart brains” and “soaring wings” through R&D design, software information, and sci-tech finance, striving to move up the value chain. This represents a transformation and upgrade of Hefei's tertiary industry and a reconfiguration of its developmental concepts. At the RONDS Remote Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Center, the reporter observed over 30 diagnostic engineers providing remote monitoring for key equipment across more than 1,300 major industrial enterprises nationwide. The platform's real-time connections to equipment have continuously increased, rising from 30,000 sets in October 2020 to 55,000 sets by August 2021, and exceeding 100,000 sets by November 2022, with over 170,000 sets currently linked, reflecting exponential growth. Meanwhile, at the JAC Logistics Xin'gang Center in Feixi County, various automotive products are continuously shipped to locations across the country every morning. "We provide specialized sales logistics, supply chain logistics, and smart logistics solutions for the national automotive industry, gradually becoming the largest automotive logistics service provider in Anhui, with annual revenues exceeding 1 billion yuan," said Wei Wei, deputy general manager of Anhui JAC Logistics Company. From product manufacturing to service output, and from serving individual enterprises to servicing entire industries, an increasing number of productive service enterprises in Hefei are seizing market opportunities, continuously growing and expanding. In the first three quarters, Hefei's revenue from the service industry above designated size exceeded 200 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%. Among these, the internet and related services grew by 44.6%, maintaining over 40% growth for 20 consecutive months; the technology service industry increased by 21.2%; and the human resources service industry grew by 18.9%, further solidifying the trend of high-quality development. Currently, Hefei is focusing on the productive service demands of six key industrial chains, including integrated circuits, photovoltaic energy storage, and new energy vehicles. Through a series of effective measures, Hefei aims to significantly enhance the contribution of productive service industry development to GDP by 2027, becoming a major support and core driving force for economic and social development, and establishing itself as a service economy center city with national influence, better supporting the high-quality development of the province’s industries.
