Recently, the Haike Commerce Roundtable (Germany Session) was held in Shanghai. Following previous sessions in Beijing and Xiamen, this event, hosted by the Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce, has become a distinctive brand for Anhui's investment promotion efforts.

At the event, 14 German-funded enterprises and business associations participated in the matchmaking and exchange activities. Most of these enterprises are leaders or hidden champions in the manufacturing and manufacturing services sectors, representing the high standards of German manufacturing. Participants included Evonik China, Voith, Festo (China) Ltd., and CLAAS. Among them, Evonik China is a global leader in specialty chemicals and a Fortune 500 company; Voith is a leader and hidden champion in the paper, energy, drive, and industrial services industries; Festo (China) Ltd. is a hidden champion providing comprehensive solutions in pneumatic and electric technology for factory and process automation.

The meeting noted that Germany is a traditional manufacturing powerhouse, with numerous world-leading companies in automotive, smart manufacturing, high-end equipment, biopharmaceuticals, and new materials. Anhui is vigorously developing its ten emerging industries, including automotive, photovoltaic new energy and intelligent equipment manufacturing, presenting significant cooperation potential with Germany.

Currently, Germany is Anhui's most important economic and trade partner in Europe. In 2023, the trade volume of goods between Anhui and Germany reached 19.6 billion yuan, and from January to May this year, it amounted to 8.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%. Additionally, Anhui is one of the key provinces for German investment in China, with over 110 German enterprises, including Volkswagen, Continental, ZF, and Bombardier, investing and operating in Anhui.

At present, Anhui is accelerating its level of opening up with a focus on industrial openness and is willing to deepen practical cooperation with foreign enterprises, including German companies. Anhui aims to jointly develop emerging industries, explore international markets, build a favorable business environment, and achieve win-win development in broader fields and at higher levels.
