On June 16, the "2024 China Unicorn Enterprise Conference" was held, where the GreatWall Strategy Consultants released the "China Unicorn Enterprise Research Report 2024." According to the report, in 2023, China had a total of 375 unicorn companies, with a combined valuation of approximately $1.2 trillion. There are also 12 super unicorn companies. In 2023, Hefei saw the addition of three new unicorns, bringing its total to eight, accounting for 50% of Anhui Province's unicorns.

In 2023, Anhui Province had 16 unicorn companies, ranking 6th nationwide, up one place from the previous year. New sectors like new retail, smart hardware, synthetic biology, and automotive services saw the emergence of unicorn companies for the first time.

The report indicates that in 2023, Hefei had eight companies listed as unicorns, ranking 10th nationwide. The total valuation of these companies was $28.73 billion, a 34% increase from the previous year. The average valuation per company was $3.59 billion, 9% higher than the national average for unicorns.

Hefei added three new unicorn companies, ranking fifth nationally in terms of the number of new unicorns.

Hefei's unicorn companies are distributed across the High-Tech Zone, Economic Development Zone, Xinzhan High-Tech Zone, and Feidong County. The High-Tech Zone has five unicorn companies, accounting for 62.5% of the city's total. The Economic Development Zone, Xinzhan High-Tech Zone, and Feidong County each have one unicorn company. This is the first time Feidong County has had a unicorn company.
