"It is important to be able to trace the development of human thought, of human potential through ages," said Athina Kavoulaki, Associate professor at the University of Crete, "because it is in this way that we can communicate." She believes people from different cultures can communicate on the basis of history. She argues that it is so crucial to develop and deepen our understanding in great civilizations like the Chinese civilization.
