ZHAOSU, July 8 (Xinhua) -- In Zhaosu County of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, horses gallop on lush grassland at the foot of snowy mountains, presenting a magnificent sight.

Zhaosu stands as a key production hub for the breed of Ili horse, known as Tianma, meaning "heavenly horse". In recent years, the county has prioritized the upgrading of its horse breeding through substantial investments in breed improvement, infrastructure development, and organizing equestrian events.
